  1. Our recommendation for a starting strength on the face is 30%, however some people may begin treatment with a higher concentration if they have had prior experience with peels or if their dermatologist recommends a higher strength.
  2. Great to hear you're loving the Glycolic Cleanser 10 - it's a versatile cleanser for all skin types, but especially popular for dry skin. Remember that Hyaluronic Acid 95 and the Glycolipidic Moisturizer are both anti-aging serums that work to rebuild the collagen-elastin matrix and restore cell turgidity. When used together (HA95 first followed 3-5 minutes later by the GM) twice daily, your skin should begin to feel more hydrated within 72 hours. You should notice less flaking and tightness after this time period. Be sure to be drinking lots of water and applying SPF (even during the winter months). Additional moisturization with an over-the-counter product (applied after our serums) is also ok. If your skin continues to feel dry, we would advise consulting with your dermatologist about next steps.
  3. Hi SJP, thank you for the detailed summary of your skin conditions and the results you've observed from various product combinations. It really helps us narrow things down for you. From your description, it seems the Coral KAVI is too strong for you. While it is a great low-impact product for oily skin, we seldom see success with people who are 55+ years of age - the dosage of sulfur in combination with the palm oil base appears to be too drying. Instead of Coral KAVI, try DermaWash S2. It has the same dosage of sulfur but no palm oil. DermaWash S2 should address your challenges with acne bacteria and oily skin without being overbearingly antiseborrheic to your skin. For sagging skin, our best products would be Complex C and Hyaluronic Acid 95. The former helps your skin rebuild the collagen-elastin matrix, and the latter helps with cell turgidity. These products may not be strong enough for more advanced cases of premature aging, and you may need to consult with your dermatologist for more invasive solutions if our products are not performing as you would like. For age spots, our most effective treatment would be the Advanced Melanin Repair Serum (used once to twice daily) along with weekly glycolic acid peels. If the latter is causing your SD to act up, then it would be best to forgo it. For broken capillaries, Complex A would be optimal. If the broken capillaries are somewhere other than the periorbital region, use with caution and observe for any adverse effects. If the capillaries are visually improving and there are no other issues, then you can continue using Complex A to treat broken capillaries on regions of the skin other than around the eyes. Please let us know if we can provide any further guidance!

For acne scarring, please have a look at the following table to help you better understand how our peels can help: Choosing the Appropriate Chemical Treatment for Acne Scarring Target Area Above the Neckline Below the Neckline Rate of Infection Sustained In Regression Sustained In Regression Scarring <1mm Deep >1mm Deep <1mm Deep >1mm Deep <1mm Deep >1mm Deep <1mm Deep >1mm Deep Level I Salicylic Acid 8 Salicylic Acid 15 Glycolic Acid 30 Glycolic Acid 30 Unbuffered Salicylic Acid 15 Salicylic Acid 25 Glycolic Acid 40 Glycolic Acid 30 Unbuffered Level II Salicylic Acid 15 Salicylic Acid 25 Glycolic Acid 40 Glycolic Acid 40 Unbuffered Salicylic Acid 25 Salicylic Acid 35 Glycolic Acid 50 Glycolic Acid 40 Unbuffered Level III Salicylic Acid 25 Salicylic Acid 35 Glycolic Acid 50 Glycolic Acid 50 Unbuffered Salicylic Acid 35 Glycolic Acid 50 Unbuffered Glycolic Acid 60 Glycolic Acid 50 Unbuffered Level IV Salicylic Acid 35 Glycolic Acid 50 Unbuffered Glycolic Acid 60 Glycolic Acid 70 Unbuffered Glycolic Acid 50 Unbuffered Glycolic Acid 70 Unbuffered Glycolic Acid 30 Unbuffered Glycolic Acid 70 Unbuffered For ingrown hairs, we would advise using KAVI Salicylic Acid 15 or 25 as a spot treatment. Apply KAVI Salicylic Acid directly on the infected pore with a cotton swab twice daily until the infection drains and the hair can be removed with tweezers. Be careful not to get the acid on surrounding healthy tissue, as this can lead to unnecessary inflammation and irritation.

While there are no permanent solutions to wrinkles, our products can help slow the onset of premature aging and keep your skin looking its best. The regimen we've listed above is a great starting point and one we would advise to all of our customers looking for a new approach to their anti-aging skin care goals.

For some background reading on acne scarring, please have a look at http://www.kaviskin.com/info/acnescarring.html. We also have a great chart that covers selecting the right peel type and strength at http://www.kaviskin.com/aha-bha.html. Applying a non-comedogenic moisturizer after a peel is fine, but definitely remember to apply a sunblock of 30 or greater when exposing any skin treated within three months directly to the sun.

When it comes to acne treatment, we often remind our customers that "less is more". Antiseborrheics can easily dry out the skin and lead to a histamine response, inflammation, and more acne. Often, one or two anti-acne products can work far better than a suite of oral and topical medications. Following a consultation with your dermatologist, we would advise a regimen free of antibiotics (when used specifically for acne) and comprising nothing more than Coral KAVI (used once or twice daily, based on your skin's response) and KAVI Salicylic Acid 15 used as a spot treatment on cysts like the one in your picture. When used as a spot treatment, KAVI Salicylic Acid 15 should be applied with a cotton swab directly on the lesion once per day for 2-3 days (and it should not be washed off). You should begin noticing an improvement in your acne in as early as 48 hours, and no additional moisturization may be required given your reduced use of antiseborrheic medication. Be monitoring your skin regularly for dryness, and if you detect any symptoms (tight skin, redness, flaking, etc.), reduce your Coral KAVI usage to once per day or even once every other day. For your other cleansing times, simply use water or something super mild like Cetaphil. Let us know how things go for you!
