Please let me know if you think I am ready for either your 50 or 60 percent peels since I have still some acne scars that have not gone away. Please let me also know if either of those strengths will actually cause my skin to peel off like if I were to do a chemical peel. Thanx!!! KAVI Support Posted September 8, 2005 Report Share Posted September 8, 2005 While we are not familiar with Murad's peels, we can tell you our home peels are buffered to a pH of 2.1, 0.1 above the FDA guidelines for OTC cosmetic peels. At a pH of 2.1, KAVI Glycolic Acid can safely be rinsed off with water and will not peel skin in sheaths but in flakes over a 24-72 hour period following treatment. For facial application, we would not recommend a concentration stronger than 50%. For licensed care practitioners, we offer non-buffered KAVI Glycolic Acid at its naturally-occurring pH of 0.6. KAVI Non-Buffered Glycolic Acid comes in a concentration of 70% and requires a neutralizing agent (e.g., NaCO3).
