Guest Penny
My 16 year old daughter is having recurring bad acne problems and scarring from previous acne. Is a glycolic or salicylic peel the best solution? Which strength would you recommend? She still needs to look presentable for school, etc, but would like some noticeable results, too. Thank You for you help!
KAVI Support
If her acne is currently active (i.e., new breakouts every week), we would recommend the following regimen: (1) Change her soap to Coral KAVI (medicated anti-acne cleansing bar with sulfur and salicylic acid), to be used once or twice per day.(2) Apply a salicylic acid mask at 8% (e.g., KAVI Salicylic Acid 8) once per week to neutralize acne infections and exfoliate surface layers of skin damaged from acne. Please note that the above products are antiseborrheics (i.e., they dry out the skin) and should not be used with any other anti-acne products, neither oral nor topical. For more information on what peel to use for acne, please see http://www.kaviskin.com/info/aha-bha.html.
